Congratuations to the Spring 2009 New Members!

We are delighted to welcome eleven new members to our chapter.

Congratulations to the Fall 2008 New Members!

Kappa Alpha Theta is proud to welcome its newest members into the Omega Chapter.

On Thursday, September 11 recruitment ended and we celebrated Bid Day by going to see an Oakland A's game. Everyone loved sporting their "Theta's love the A's" t-shirts.

The week of October 7 - October 10, the new members were showered with gifts every day from their new big sisters. On Friday 10/10 everyone found out who their Big Sis was during a fun and exciting Big Sis Revealing activity.

The week of October 21 - October 25 was Initiation Week, and the new members enjoyed attending surprise activities every day of the week. Finally, on Sunday October 26 all 31 new members were initiated and become official active members of Kappa Alpha Theta.

We love our newest members to Kappa Alpha Theta!!!

1st Annual Theta Dodgeball Tournament

This year we held our very first Dodgeball Tournament to raise money for Kappa Alpha Theta's philanthropy organization, CASA. The event took place on Sunday, April 27 in the RSF Field House. We recruited 24 teams of 6-8 players from the Greek community as well as the general campus community. The event featured free food, a DJ, a raffle with some generous donated prizes, and of course the entertainment of watching the teams compete at dodgeball.

Teams raised money (at least $80 per team), and we also sold entrance tickets and raffle tickets at the door.
We raised a total of $4, 256.82. All proceeds went towards helping neglected and abused children in the court system.

Congratulations to all the winners!
1st place - Sigma Chi
2nd place - Alpha Tau Omega
Most spectators - Alpha Chi Omega "Ninja Turtles"
Money Wars champions - Sigma Alpha Mu

Thank you to all participants and spectators! The tournament was a ton of fun and for a great cause. We can't wait until next year's tournament, and we hope to see you there!

Welcome to Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of California Berkeley! Theta is an integral part of our lives here, and we are so glad you are interested in learning more about us. Founded in 1870, Kappa Alpha Theta holds the proud position of being the first ever Greek letter Fraternity known among women. Our chapter here at U.C. Berkeley was founded in 1890. The sisters here at the Omega chapter continue to embody and uphold the ideals that our founders deemed important over 137 years ago. We strive for the highest scholarship, the widest influence for social good, and to foster the bonds of sisterhood that will last a lifetime.

As one can imagine, Omega Thetas strive for academic excellence, are involved in countless philanthropic and community organizations, as well as outside leadership opportunities. Nevertheless, our commitments to our Fraternity still hold strong. We are so lucky to have found our community of sisters here at Cal, and we hope that you get a sense of our special bond as you look around.

Thank you for stopping by! And as always... GO BEARS!

Loyally,
Danielle Gersh
Omega Chapter President
